SUMMARY OF KEY FINDINGS
The race for Los Angeles City Council District 4 is competitive. Ethan Weaver is in a statistical tie with incumbent Councilmember Nithya Raman today. 1
Weaver is speaking to the issues that voters care about in this district, and his profile resonates. More than three-quarters (79%) of voters respond positively to Weaver’s prosecutorial background and biography, and his plan to address the issues voters care most about are convincing to over two in three voters.
Survey Methodology: The findings in this memo come from a mixed mode live telephone, email-to-web, and text-to-web survey among likely March 2024 voters in Los Angeles City Council District 4 conducted by EMC Research. Telephone interviews were conducted by trained, professional interviews; landlines and mobile phones included. Email and text invitations were sent with link to the web survey. The survey was offered in English and Spanish. The poll was conducted September 14 – 18, 2023 with a sample size of 400 for an overall margin of Error of +4.9 percentage points.

The poll used a split sample for Ethan Weaver's ballot designation where half of respondents saw/heard "Neighborhood Prosecutor" and half saw/heard "Deputy City Attorney." Data shown in the graph represents the overall data, averaged for the two designations.
